Amber Odom is a licensed and registered dietitian who brings over 20 years of experience to Village Health Partners. Her passion and specialty is preventative and cardiovascular nutrition and weight management. She enjoys teaching patients how to modify their lifestyles for overall health and wellness, and loves to see the results her patients achieve.
Amber earned her undergraduate degree in food and nutrition from Texas Tech University before earning a Bachelor of Science in clinical dietetics at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she also completed an internship in nutrition. Prior to joining Village Health Partners, Amber started her career in dietetics at Parkland Health & Hospital System before working as a registered dietitian at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas for over 10 years.
Amber encourages her patients to make small changes toward a healthier lifestyle and teaches them that, over time, those changes add up to achieve big results. She believes weight loss should be a realistic lifestyle approach involving healthy eating and staying active, while still enjoying foods you love in moderation. Amber enjoys running, working out, cooking and traveling with her husband. They also enjoy spending time outdoors, riding bikes, boating, and watching their two teenagers' basketball games. She is an active member of the Dallas Dietetic Alliance, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Weight Management and Dietetic Practice Groups and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. In 2002, she was named “Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year” by the Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
